There is no 'short' history of Russia, but this is a pretty good attempt and a good read for those (like me) just wanting the big picture and not all the details.

This book was an okay overview of the history of Russia. But the title itself proclaims that it is just a short history, so it is not too indepth. As it was published inthe Russian Revolution hadn't happened yet, and it was poignant to read at the end/5.
